A Prayer for Our Nation
O Divine Source of Justice and Mercy,
We lift our hearts to You in prayer for our nation—
That it may become a land where every person, without exception,
Receives the rights, liberties, and freedoms endowed to all by Your eternal truth.
Grant that all people may have access to opportunity—
A quality education, fair and sustainable wages,
Dignified and affordable housing,
Comprehensive medical care, and
Every resource needed not just to survive, but to thrive.
Heal the wounds of division, hatred, and injustice that scar this land.
Let truth rise over falsehood,
Let unity rise over fear,
Let compassion rise over indifference.
May this nation remember its calling—
To be a servant of the common good,
To use its power with wisdom and humility,
To be a beacon not of dominance, but of peace and partnership across the world.
Strengthen our resolve to confront the crises of our time:
To fight climate destruction with courage and innovation,
To cast down greed and uplift the needs of the many,
To dismantle systems of oppression and rebuild with righteousness.
Let America rise again—
Not in arrogance, but in repentance and renewed purpose.
Let the law be a shield for the innocent, not a weapon for the unjust.
Let no tyranny—whether of man, money, or malice—
Break the spirit of a people still longing for liberty.
And may we, each of us, be the builders of this better future—for the people today and all God’s Children forever and ever in word, in action, in love.
