“To Uphold and Defend the Constitution of the United States Against all Enemies Foreign and Domestic.” So, Help Us God!

An oath is a solemn promise. The following is the oath of office taken by members of Congress of the United States of America:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
With the potential catastrophe of the current crises with Russia and the internal attacks on the government of the United States of America by various powerful self interest groups at home and abroad, will the recent decision by the House of Representatives Intelligence Committee to shut down the Russian cyber attack investigation reveal whether those very members have kept their oaths of office by making them inviolate in upholding the Constitution of the United States of America by protecting this nation from all enemies foreign and domestic or will it determine in the end that they have abandoned their duties and responsibilities in deference to Party politics, the President and those same powerful interests?
What’s happening to our country? Where is principle centered leadership? Does supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States of America also require defending it against those forces determined to derail, diminish and destroy our current form of government, our American Representative Democracy, our Constitutional Democratic Republic? Does that support and defense also require standing against those forces which undermine American institutions, which by-pass, obviate and disregard those policies and laws put in place to create checks and balances and co-intentional, co-representative forms of leadership in the Executive, Judicial and Legislative branches of government? Does defending the Constitution suggest that no forms of compromise with enemies foreign or domestic shall ever be brooked, brokered or tolerated so help us God?
With the investigation shut down is there something that the House and Senate intelligence Committees realize that citizens don’t know? Are they hiding something? Do Republicans know what’s coming but don’t want to say it or be a part of it? But aren’t they part of it already? Or is closing the investigation executed with the understanding that the Senate will finish its work and Mueller with all his resources, capabilities, thoroughness, power and integrity will have the final say and there is no need for the House Intelligence Committee to waste its time because Mueller will bring it all out in the end anyway, which will tell the true story about what really happened and will reveal the greater existing and potential threats to the security of our nation?
Again, why have members of the intelligence committee shut down the investigation? Is this an abdication of constitutional responsibilities and authority? If so, what does this ultimately mean? What will be the outcome of the committee closing the books on this investigation? How will history interpret their actions? Do these actions weaken or strengthen our government? Is this equivalent to Pilate washing his hands before the crucifixes were put on?
God help us.
If the investigation’s shutdown is due more to politics than higher moral principles and if all caution is now being cast to the winds what will it all portend for the ultimate future and fate of the United States of America?
So, help us God.
Please help us.
“I will lift my eyes to the hills. Our help comes from God.”
“deus nobiscum, quis contra?” God with us, who (can avail) against us?
